Lunch at the Hau Tree restaurant

Wednesday we were invited to have lunch at the Hau Tree restaurant with Japanese friend Sus and Mieko. We were early and C had the opportunity to do one of here favourite things while here; watch the Koi fish...

Sus took the photo of us together with Mieko. We had a great time and as bonus we also got some beautiful memories brought back... This is the restaurant where we had our dinner together with family and friends after getting married in 2006.

Only minutes after saying goodbye C falls to sleep. Looks comfortable??

But this is how she falls asleep nowdays. She refuses to lean back and this is what gravity does when she goes unconcious in the stroller.

Caught by the moment we decided to go to the park where we said "I do" almost six years ago. It was a very special time because, it was our first visit since a very dear friend passed away. He grew up close to here and he was laid to rest in the ocean just outside of here.

Dec 27; laundry and Jack

To do laundry we go down to the 5th floor, and this is the view. Diamond head can be seen in the far back. The big building to the right in the picture, the Trump tower. It was not here three years ago when we were here last. Apparently mr Trump made millions of dollars just giving his name to it.

The Hilton buildings. They also got an additional one since we were here last. Down to the right is a busy intersection where we have spent many hours...

After laundry we decided to take a walk into downtown Honolulu. First we went to Aloha tower, but to our surprise most stores had closed. Most exciting thing there was a cruiseship. C didn't even bother to wake up...

After strolling around downtown C had her first Jack in the Box. Not as good as her parents remembered it, and soon they remembered that the best thing about Jack is his prices.

Merry Christmas to all!

The day we spent mostly walking around. C always starts shouting "icecream" now when we are in a certain neighborhood, and who were we to deny her on Christmas eve? Three spoons and one giant cup... Competition for the good stuff is fierce and not many words are spoken. Somehow Dad's choice of flavour always seems to be the most popular...

In the evening we arrived to Audrey just in time for sunset. This is her view from the livingroom, the harbour and Magic Island can be seen.

Audrey had made delicious pupus and a excellent dinner, Keith brought a salmon made to perfection, and for a couple hours, we didn't miss the "julbord" at all. We had a very nice evening, thank you Audrey & Keith!

Sunset photosession Friday evening

After tennis at Ala moana beach park Friday afternoon, we came up with the great idea of taking a picture of C in front of the beautiful sunset that were about to take place.

Doll can participate if it wants... Sunset about one minute away now...

Aj, aj. No Doll and mood change...

A Kodak moment? Well, maybe not. But could have been. The picture has a interesting composition, that's for sure.

If the weather permits, one can see a green flash of light just as the sun disappears behind the horizon. Cornelia? She was fine, and maybe we'll try to get the picture another time.

I met up with Dad and his tennisbuddies Friday morning

This is where Dad starts his mornings on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Ogawa from Japan and local player John. Cornelia is running around in the stands.

All smiles.

Action on the nearby courts. Kirby closest to the camera and Kay is seen in the background, making her patented shots.

Lunchtime! C had a nap in the shadow and woke up in time for Panda Express. Orange chicken, mmm... Do you miss that Auntie?

Mai Tais and Bud Lite

We followed up the Aquarium with great food, exotic drinks and live music at a restaurant near the marina. In the picture can be seen how Mom tosses me araound when she is in a good mood.

Waikiki Aquarium

This thursday we went to the Waikiki Aquarium with Kay. Cornelia enjoyed the experience very much, and her parents were reminded of the good old days, when they used to snorkel the Big Island's Kohala coast.

Mommo! Moffa!

Strawberries in the shadow

Mom found a nice place in the shadow next to the beach. She had bought me strawberries because they are a good source of iron, and she is concerned about me getting enough.

Thank you Faye for the dress. I love it so much I even sleep in it!

Showing the No.2 face in front of the Hilton lagoon. We can't believe people are now swimming in it. A couple of years ago the fish in it almost looked mutant, and we never even thought of dipping our toes in it. But a nice job has been done renovating that area.

Today I played in the water intill sunset.

Christmas boat parade

Taka invited us to his beautiful Hawaii Kai home to watch the Festival of lights christmas boat parade, saturday night. Unfortunately his wife Rei couldn't be home, but she had prepared the most delicious japanese dish for us. Mahalo Rei! It was gooood!

Cornelia, Anne and the Doll enjoys the parade.

We were not able to hold the camera steady but the blurry pictures will give an idea of what we saw. However, we are not able to mediate the festive moods and good music that was a great part of the parade.

Santa is towing a man playing with fire.

Some of the boats were just incredible, and the party had just started!

Christmas boat parade (cont.)

C enjoyed the show very much and waved to the many boats that went by. We had a great view from Taka's lanai.

Remember the flying man from the 1980's olympics in Los Angeles? He was back, but this time connected to a long hose!

Awesome to watch, how fun wouldn't it be to take for a testdrive?

Our guess for the winner of the best in show award. Looks like the same boat that won last year, but with a new theme. Check out the last years pictures; http://www.hkmca.com/maraina-parade-2010-pop-feature.html

Exhausted.

Another great day with Kay

Started the day with tennis. Maybe not so entertaining...

...But then Kay took us to the Zoo. Gibbon monkeys are always fun!

Come kittie, kittie! Come!
